Just the other day, I was looking through my closet and I realized something: All I own are tote bags—oversized tote bags, more specifically. I’m not quite sure when or how it happened, but this has been one of the summer 2023 bag trends I’ve had my eye on for a while. Blame it on my need for something that holds more than my keys, phone, and wallet (if that, even) or the ever-versatile use the humble tote provides, but it’s the only type of bag I've been sporting.

The first time I saw tote bags of the larger-than-life variety, I was enamored. I’m a self-proclaimed bag lady, and these roomier digs carry everything I could need and then some. They can even carry smaller bags within them (for when you’re bringing a second look with you, obviously).

While the reasons to have an oversized tote in your arsenal are virtually endless, I decided to save you the brain power and find the best options on the market.
